The New Year Reality

With every new year comes a new resolution. Yes the “RESOLUTION”, this is the same resolution which we make every year with full confidence and mindset that whatever happens this resolution will be followed the whole year, even if the world is ending :)

But as soon as January 1 leaves, reality starts to enter our lives. At first the speed is slow because it’s filled with motivation, but after some time the speed increases because the motivation decreases and by the time the motivation hits 0% we blame the time for our failure to keep up with our resolution. Well that’s human nature I guess.

I personally don’t think there is any human being who has ever completed their new year resolution, but then again exceptions are always there. But I’m pretty sure that I’m definitely not in that exception list.

Even though I made big plans for this year, they were actually enormous plans. My mind told me, it's 2022, this is your year, you can do it girl and as usual I fell for that sweet voice of my mind. I planned my entire year. From my weight loss plan to me being the college topper and all rounder, everything was perfectly planned.

But then came the third wave of corona. There really is rona (crying) in corona. With this third wave came lockdown, which meant shutting down of colleges. This is the worst punishment a college going student could have ever gotten. All my plans got shattered just like the way Ranbir Kapoor shattered the wine glasses during his friend’s reception in the movie “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”. God why us, what did we do, all we wanted was to go college and study, and somehow stick to our resolution. Looks like God himself has some grudges against new year resolutions.

All the students are back at their home, enjoying delicious meals, gaining weight, and sleeping for long hours without any tension for classes. I’m pretty sure people must have forgotten about the resolution. The very same resolution which was your best friend some few days ago is now not even in your memories. Now it just lies down somewhere in a dark corner, waiting for you to come for it, but we all know how this story ends right :)

There is gonna be another new year, another resolution…..but I wish corona should not be there with them….I never loved a trio friendship anyways.
